just yesterday, jake (the other resident 6MOB author) fond a cool discovery in our church, buried in a back hallway. for the sake of protecting the anonymity of those involved, i will neither mention the artifact, or the owner. but suffice it to say, we were curious.this is something that i personally, have been hunting for before, and do to a confluence of event out of my control, mostly money, i have never had one in grasp.

and there it was.

sitting on the floor.

appearing to be unused.

i’m pretty sure i was drooling a little bit.

i believe the reaction was:

me: “OOOOO HECK YEA! JAKE! where’s jake? jake! get in here, you gotta see this magic i just found!”

jake: “oh! nice find! can we keep it?”

me: “well i dunno, who does it belong to?”

jake: “PSH! how am i supposed to know!? you called me in here!”

me: “good point. let’s find out…”

a few minutes later, we asked josh (while currently not a 6MOB author, we like him anyway) who’s it was and he said…

“oh, that’s XXXXX. why do you want to buy it?”

my response was, “i don’t have any money… maybe he wants to ‘kingdom‘ it?”

and there birthed post number 16 on things that happen at bible college. we’re too cheap to actually buy everything ourselves, and since we’re on ‘mission’ it will be used for the kingdom! so maybe instead of having to buy anything, people can just ‘kingdom’ stuff to us all the time.

have you kingdomed anything lately? maybe it’s time to start helping your local, poor, cheap bible college student.

dear owner of aforementioned object of my desire, how would you like to kingdom that to me?

It belongs to Sean. the drummer from morning church. He got it (some great deal) and brought it to church. He was all excited and pastor said to hide it because i took about 3 years for the older people to finally let go of organ music! I am sure he would love to see God use it!

    Ask Kathleen for his number.

I have an example for you also. My daughter is a missionary (as you know Albert). She wants Duplo Lego’s for her sons to play with. They are expensive. One lady in our church gave my daughter a whole big box of them! I was so touched! I was a real example of “having all things in common” She was willing to give what could have been sold for well over $100.00. The young families do that a lot in our church, clothes, toys, etc which really saves on money!

Another family is giving them the little tiny legos which have an even higher resale value. But instead she is sharing the blessing! It is so cool!

Personally God blessed me with an opportunity… Iwent to a garage sale and a lady was selling a box of Christmas dishes for $10 that I knew would most likely sell on Ebay or Amazon for well over $100. So I bought them got her name and number and told her I would split the profits with her.

Needless to say she was shocked. I still don’t think she believes me! I am hoping that this will evolve into a relationship that enables me to invite her to church and that she will not just see it as an invite to a meeting but as a true invitation to something different. She is going through a very rough time in her life. So every time I bring her some extra money I hope to spend some time talking with her and loving her.
