something interesting happened to me the other day. i am a part of prayer group that meets at panera every wednesday at lunchtime. it’s pretty cool, i won’t lie. but just last week, we discovered a rival prayer group at the same place and the same time!
what to do.
we were puzzled. after all, we had obviously claimed that panera for us and no others. they approached us when we were leaving and invited us to join up with them sometime.
but what does that mean?
how long were they planning to talk to us? how long had they been scouting our group? what are their plans?
we just don’t know.
we briefly talked about it a few minuets later. but we immediately dismissed it as ludicrous. i mean, combine? come on. i wasn’t born yesterday!
so now what? we are at a crossroads of indecision. we could join with them, thus making us completely impotent and useless, or we could hold strong, defending our honor. either road casts us in an unfavorable light. we should have approached them first!
it’s all politics.
just like jefferson and adams.
unfortunately, our political advisor, for the sake of his protection, we’ll call him ‘micah’, was not present. thus rendering us in a state of confusion. so now, every week, we are in a stalemate, just tables away from our rivals. staring. we close our eyes when we pray, but i can just feel they’re stares burning through my face.
i know they’re watching.
waiting.
waiting to pounce when we’re weakest.
beware of rival prayer group friends. beware.
