153 | Hunting Season

Well, as wedding season is coming to a close, hunting season is among us. That special time of the year where bible college student have spent every weekend this summer attending and possibly participating in weddings for their friends and are just dying to give it a go. With all ambitious and angst, the look to the new semester as prime opportunity for advancing their goals.

As the beginning of the fall semester is impending for us all, I thought it would be helpful to throw out a few tips to warn any unsuspecting person of what’s to come.

Here’s how to spot a bible college student on the hunt:

1. Their eyes gravitate from your eyes…

You may be thinking they will float to some region of the body not culturally appropriate to reference on this blog (boobs) … (whoops), but in fact, the eyes of a male bible college student will in fact gravitate to the left hand of any girl he decides to strike up a conversation with. That’s right, they’re checking for a ring.

2. They’re very loose with their money

While bible college students are normally very frugal individuals, they take this special time of the year to be extra generous. Because they never know who they will end up, coffee, meals, and special treats are flowing for anyone of the opposite sex. But as soon as they find someone, or hunting season is over, whichever comes first, the tightness of their wallet goes back to it’s usual constrictive self.

3. Academic rigor

If the bible college student is on the hunt, he or she will typically come extra prepared for class, go the extra mile on that report or memorize those extra verses just to prove how hard a worker they potentially can be, but will probably never be again.

4. Late night study sessions

Usually bible college students are trying to soak every ounce of sleep they can get their grubby little hands on, but if there’s a chance to get some post 10pm hang time with a potential spouse, they’re all in.

What are some other signs the bible college student is on the hunt?

It’s true, and it works. Sometimes. For me it did… Well for him. Jake followed these steps to a T and BOOM! married me.
