There will be a point in the career of a bible college student, where they simply stop doing homework. Without warning, some sort of subconscious trigger with throw the bible college into a dodging homework frenzy. From the innermost of heir insides shooting out from every pore, they will avoid homework like the plague.
Maybe it’s the burnout all bible college students are warned about, maybe they are so close to being done they realize that C’s will get the same degree as A’s, but either way, homework becomes a thing of the past.
But, the bible college student, while confusing, is never without reason. Well, at least a reason for others.
So here they are folks, the top 3 reasons bible college students give up homework:
1. More time for ministry
They will drop their homework at the first sight of an opportunity to, well, drop their homework. And ministry is a perfectly good reason to do so. If there’s a chance to dive into someone’s life, spend time praying, or working on your next message, home can just get to the back of the bus!
2. More time for work
In an attempt to slowly cut the cord form the parents, the bible college student may have a job. Highly recommended by 6MOB. But hat job, and it’s own ministry there, may be taking up too much time, therefore homework flies out the window.
3. It’s unbiblical
The bible college student’s favorite reason: homework is not mentioned in the bible! Now, those sticklers could try and pin down the Jewish practice of memorizing the torah as homework, but don’t let them bring you down! After all, we live under the new covenant right? No homework in the new covenant!
