A Look Back

Well folks, in honor of our return, I thought I’d give some of the newbies a peak at what we have all known and loved for some time. A best of, if you will. So here are a few of my favorite posts over the last couple of years:

And We’re Back!

After a brief time away, the boys (and potential girls) are back in town. If you expect the usual witty banter you’ve come to know and love, please turn away. (Well, actually please stay, I cannot legally guarantee that you will have the same side-splitting memories you are used to, due to the nature and length of our time away. This aforementioned expectation of hilarity puts quite a lot of pressure on the writer currently writing. This writer does not respond well to pressure. Or being being back into a corner. You can’t hold baby down.)

So in an effort to start out a new season of 6MOB right, welcome. Enjoy. Live. Laugh. Thrive.

We have new stories, new advice, new writers, new characters, new videos, new flim flams, new bamboozles, new celebrities, and a free iPad giveaway! (I must legally inform you there is no guarantee of any such activity taking place.)

This new season of 6MOB will be a wild ride.

We’re Not Dead Yet!

interview with Preston Sprinkle about his new book “erasing hell” with Francis Chan

Hey all,

I’m sure most have seen this video already:

Francis Chan is the founder of my bible college. He and one of our professors, Preston Sprinkle, got together to write this book: Erasing Hell. The project started as a response to Rob Bell’s “Love Wins” to help clarify and correct. But, what happened, is the two decided that it would be more of an effective and long lasting book if they wrote, rather as a response to Bell, a book on the theology of hell itself. Many know what hell is, to some degree, or at least have heard others talking about it. So Chan and Sprinkle’s book unpack some of the complexities and thoughts around hell very well.

My friends at EBC worked with Jefferson Henson to produce some great, extensive interviews with Preston about what it’s like to write with Francis and what the bible actually say about hell.

126 | your profesor: writing books

A great bit of news surfaced from the bowels of my school today, a professor of ours, Preston Sprinkle, and the founder of our school, Francis Chan, have teamed up to write a book about hell.

While this is, in fact, entirely factual, it is also quite indicative of bible college culture. Aside form the massive theological thesis that most professors end up writing to obtain the degree they wield to impart their knowledge, many find it’s not enough. They have more to say.

For professors that do not have a interesting bone in their body, this could be a rather dull undertaking. But, if you have professors who are just plain fascinating, this will be good. I have some incredibly interesting professors, and one teamed up with our school’s founder to write a book. This is the announcement that was published today on our faculty blog just today:

a new look

as the extra observant reader you are, you may have noticed 6mob changes its look from time to time. today is one of those days. this may have something to do with the relentless pursuit of graphical perfection sought by the authors, but in fact, it is their drive for the best experience for you, the reader.

today, 6mob has changed its theme to one available to anyone and designed by a great guy: john saddington. he’s the author of tentblogger.com, designs great wordpress based cms themes, and has recently done some work for jon acuff.

most of the reason for he switch have been pretty technical, like better SEO options and superior framework, but if you are a budding blogger on the wordpress platform, i’d encourage you to check out my friend john and the amazing work he’s doing over at tentblogger.

easter.

happy easter y’all.
